At 46.41 degrees South we’re still a long way shy of the world’s Southern-most brewery but we accept we’re a little off the beaten track. The last time we checked the Southern-most honour went to Cerveza Artesanal Beagle an Argentinian brewery at 54.8 degrees South which was just pipping Chile’s Astral brewery in the tiny town of Punta Arenas at 53.16 degrees South for the title. Anyway, we digress. If you are heading this way you’ll find Invercargill Brewery down the bottom of New Zealand’s South Island at 72 Leet Street, Invercargill six days a week.
Incidentally, if you are planning a visit to our neighbourhood you won’t be disappointed – what it lacks in population Southland more than makes up for in natural history – with Fiordland National Park to our West, Rakiura National Park on Stewart Island to the South, Waituna Lagoon – a Ramsar Wetland – just out of town and Catlins Forest Park to the East there’s no shortage of beautiful vistas or delicious home-grown produce. It can be a bit of stretch to just pop in but if you’re not in the neighbourhood we’d still love to hear from you, either drop us an email or chat to us on Facebook
